T his North Toronto backyard was transformed into a hidden oasis that provides a warm cottage feel and timeless contemporary elements. The clients were looking for a space that would allow them to enjoy everything from alone time to gatherings with friends and family.
A large rectangular pool with soothing sheer waterfalls makes up the centre of the yard. One end of the pool is anchored by a rustic timber pavilion for lounging in the shade on a warm summer day, while a linear gas fire table was added to create warmth for those cooler nights. To finish off the relaxion station, a complete audio-video system was installed to provide extra entertainment.
A ground level composite deck was created for cooking and dining outdoors. Complete with a custom stone kitchen, built-in gas grill, bar fridge and stone counter tops, this space is perfect for enjoying a meal after a long day. While grilling steaks, or late-night snacks, friends can sit nearby at the attached bar and dining table.
Completing the perfect hidden getaway, trees and laser-cut corten steel accent screens were strategically placed to block out views of neighboring homes. Enhancing the feel of a quiet weekend up north, Muskoka chairs set around the second fire pit let friends enjoy an evening and admire the stars above. No longer having to fight traffic to get to the cottage, the home owners are now just step away from a peaceful atmosphere.CEDARSPRINGS.NET
