A imee & Mario, professional lawyers, with a third child growing into toddler stage needed to expand beyond their starter home on a quiet court in midtown Toronto. An ideal lot in the nearby Glen Park community came up as an opportunity for the family to build their forever home.

Their chosen builder, Silverpoint Fine Homes appointed ManArchDesign Inc. to create architectural plans for the Georgian inspired home. Stefano Tognarelliowner of Silverpoint Fine Homes enlisted longtime collaborator Natalie Mirabelli, (NM Interiors) to bring all finishes of this custom build to life.

Natalie worked exclusively with the Aimee & Mario during the construction process to create the full vision of their dreams. All details from the limestone, brick and mortar exterior to the interior millwork, tile, plumbing and fixtures were carefully considered & designated for the home’s completion in late 2016. The synergy was so dynamic that Natalie continued onto the curation of interior space planning, furnishings and custom elements that tell the full story of this familial home.

Over the two-year period after moving in, this modern Georgian gem developed further in personality to reflect a home where everyone can work, eat and play with an elegant yet approachable feel as the homeowners intended.

The home is very much in harmony with the family’s interests. A formal living room features conversation chairs with a desk tucked into a light filled window niche getting frequent use for conference calls and work from home days.

The dining room features wall to wall bookshelves around the symmetrical windows to engage in a vast reading collection while housing not the expected dining table but rather a piano and lounge sofa better suited for the kid’s daily musical study. An over-scaled pendant chandelier was intentionally installed in this unique room to set the tone for ‘not your typical’ traditional Georgian. Walnut Pocket doors define these special spaces for added privacy and sound filters when needed.

A 10 ft. pine table was refinished in a deep walnut tone to serve as the main dining table for the fully outfitted chef’s kitchen to host the large number of guests that gather for frequent entertainment.

The full main floor balances many double duty tasks, so, all furnishings and fabrics were customized with this heavy usage in mind.

The master bedroom retreat continues the fresh take on traditionalism with bold silk stripe drapery, a mix of cool blue tones with rich camels for a strong stately feel. The adjoining dressing room offers plenty of storage and organization for both husband and wife to maintain their professional wardrobes. This extends into the master ensuite adorned by classic Bianco Carrara Marble designated with a soaker tub, oversized shower and vanity area for ease with morning prep.

This family of five all have their own space to spread out and enjoy living a modern lifestyle with a nod to the refinement of classic tradition.
